Company: | Snes9X Development Team |
Product: | Snes9X Emulator 1.43 and earlier |
Category: | Game, Emulation |
Problems: | Application stores saved game states and game non-volatile RAM data in installation folder by default. Depending on the location of this folder, limited users may not have write access to save games and game states. |
Workarounds: | Download and install the Windows Installer-based snes9x-1.43.msi package developed by Pan-Am.
The installer pre-populates the "Freeze File Directory" and "Last Directory" Registry entries with values that point to the current user's Application Data and My Documents folders, and places shortcuts in the All Users Start Menu.
The emulator otherwise stores its settings per-user and runs without difficulty for limited users. Game software files may reside in any readable location, such as the Shared Documents folder. |
